Johanna Malangré directs the Orchestre de Picardie in a free concert in Amiens

The Orchestre de Picardie are widely known for giving a range of concerts that attract and expose younger listeners, as well as families and those who don’t often attend classical music concerts, to works by the great composers like Beethoven, Mozart, and Haydn. As well as putting on frequent free classical performances, such as the one at the beginning of this month, the orchestra often collaborate with scriptwriters, designers and video producers in multimedia projects aimed at attracting younger members of the public. Directed by Johanna Malangré, the Orchestre de Picardie is outstandingly committed to making classical music popular again, and their efforts are paying off.

After Johanna Malangré spoke about the upcoming performance on France Bleu Picardie, more than four hundred people attended the Orchestre de Picardie’s concert that afternoon. The event was a great success and we would like to encourage the public to keep attending these short musical breaks! This April, the wonderful Victor Jacob will direct the orchestra in a similar series of lighter concerts.
