BIOGRAPHY

Finalist and “Prix Spécial” recipient of the International Besançon Conducting Competition in 2019, which enabled him to make his debut with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken, French conductor Victor Jacob is establishing himself as one of the most promising young conductors of his generation, at ease in wide range of repertoires (choral, opera, and symphonic).

He has since been invited to conduct the orchestras of his native country: Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Orchestre de Chambre National Aquitaine, and Orchestre de Picardie. Abroad, he has also been the guest conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolivár de Venezuela, Esbjerg Ensemble, Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken, and will conduct a subscription series with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège during the 23/24 season.

Victor has assisted and conducted operas at the Monte-Carlo Opera House, Rouen Opera and Théâtre des Champs-Elysées for a shortened version of the famous opera ‘Un Rigoletto’ in their 2022 production, as well as at the Montpellier Opera house, where he conducted “Virilité-e-s’’, a German music programme for a choregraphed choir. His next project will be assisting conductor Nathalie Stutzmann for ‘The Queen of Spades’ at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels.
