Théo Imart receives special award at the 41st Belvedere Singing Competition
following his recent success at the belvedere singing competition, théo imart will now perform with the ORCHESTRE DE L’OPÉRA ROYAL DE VERSAILLES as a soloist in pergolesi’s stabat mater
At the end of last month, Théo Imart took part in the Belvedere Singing Competition. This competition is valued for its trustworthy adjudication; from the very beginning, in 1982, the competition was assessed by those still in practice and responsible for the engagement of singers, rather than by academic vocal instructors. Today, the competition maintains this emphasis and has grown to be one of the biggest and most competitive in the world, often launching young artists into a busy opera career.
In 2023, the qualifying rounds were held in 70 cities worldwide and only 15 singers made it to the final. Théo Imart was one of the lucky and talented few, and he performed in the final round with the wonderful orchestra at the Theater Dortmund. Théo was awarded a special prize from the Dutch National Opera for his performance and will receive a coaching and audition on the main stage in the near future.
