Sarah Gilford joins the all-star cast of Peter Grimes at the Bayerische Staatsoper

Having trained with the Bayerische Staatsoper for two years from 2019-2021, Sarah Gilford now takes on the role of ‘2. Nichte’ in Benjamin Britten’s opera, Peter Grimes, performing alongside opera stars, Jonas Kaufmann, Rachel Willis-Sørensen, and Brindley Sherratt.

Premiered in 1945, Peter Grimes marked a turning point in Britten’s career; both a critical and popular success, the opera is still regularly performed around the world today. The Bayerische Staatsoper has staged two performances of the opera already this month, with the final two taking place on 27th and 30th September.
