Victor Jacob conducts Rigoletto at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées
Fresh off his performances of Rigoletto at Opéra de Rouen Normandie, conductor Victor Jacob is scheduled to conduct three more performances of the Verdi classic at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Paris.
The Victor Hugo inspired work tells a story of a frivolous Duke mocking the fathers and husbands of the women he has seduced. A jester, Rigoletto goes out of harm’s way to make certain that his own daughter is safe from the Duke’s misadventures, but he doesn't know that the Duke has already set eyes on her.
The new production at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées imagined as a work within a work, specifically designed for young audiences uses theatrical magic and acrobats to soften the original darkness of Verdi's opera. The show opens on 6th February 2022.
