Théo Imart makes his debut at Theater St Gallen
Countertenor Théo Imart will MAKE his DEBUT AT Theater St Gallen SINGING IN Tobias Picker & Aryeh Lev Stollman'S New oPera, Lili Elbe
This October, Théo Imart will appear on the stage of Theatre St Gallen singing in the new opera commission by Konzer und Theater St. Gallen. The production is the first major opera featuring a transgender protagonist. Théo will be singing in three roles respectively which are the Danish Countess, Dagmar, and Matron.
Lili Elbe is the latest work by Grammy-winning American composer Tobias Picker and librettist Aryeh Lev Stollman. It tells the story of a woman of the same name, Lili Elbe, who was married to the painter Gerda Wegener and had one of the first gender reassignment procedures carried out in the 1930s. It is a work about love, gender, identity, and the courage to do pioneering work.
